About Blás Vasco

Blás Vasco is the pseudonym for guitarist-composer Louis Sparre.  The recordings featured on this website are all original compositions arranged and performed with various musicians.   BV draws from many influences such as  flamenco, bossa nova, Indian classical music, jazz, punk; while maintaining a high degree of originality.    In 2025 a vynil record will be released for sale featuring the first two albums and some beautiful custom artwork on 180g eco friendly vynil.  So far three albums have been produced and a fourth EP is to be released in 2025 ("Introducing", "Ink Spots", "Optomology" , and "shots fired" respectively.   These albums were designed to be listened to cover to cover and each has been recorded live.  The first two are  jazz, brazilian and "world music" influenced, featuring the exclusive use of the classical guitar with percussion, horns and bass.  The third album is a bit of a departure and is a jazz manouche style album, of course with a modern twist.   The fourth album is nothing like the other three.
